Jacques Bosshard Heizungs- und Lüftungs AG builds not only air-to-water heat pumps that draw on outdoor air, but also ground-source units with boreholes reaching around 200 meters deep, as well as water-source heat pumps, for instance using groundwater or water from Lake Zürich and the Limmat. The company points out that a heat pump works most economically in a well-insulated building, and that an air-to-water system is sometimes designed to run bivalently with a second heat source in winter.
Support runs from consultation through permits to installation and commissioning, for both new builds and renovations of single-family homes, housing developments, and larger commercial buildings. A heat pump can be combined with solar thermal or a peak-load boiler. The company is certified by the Fachvereinigung Wärmepumpen Schweiz and runs a 24-hour on-call service.
