With the Wärmeabo, CKW offers the heat pump on a contracting basis: the company plans, finances, installs and operates the system, and the customer draws heat as a service. Payment consists of a one-off installation fee, which CKW says roughly matches the installation cost of an oil heating system, plus the heat consumed. Repairs, maintenance and service are included in the subscription, which keeps ongoing costs predictable.
